The multimode media converter DMC-G02SC/E converts 1000 Mbit/s (RJ-45) to 1000 Mbit/s SX multimode (SC-Duplex). The converter easily combines Gigabit Ethernet twisted pair cabling with fiber optics. D-Link offers a range of Fast Ethernet converters that can be used to adapt different cabling within a network to create a homogeneous unit. If networks with their different topologies are linked together using a converter, they can communicate with each other, exchange data and share expensive peripheral devices. This is a particularly cost-effective way to continue using previously used devices such as switches.
